51 Things to Do at Home Today
We are in the midst of a global crisis and most of us were not really ready for the lockdown. There is a lot of uncertainty and anxiety that is surrounding this time. A lot of us have had to put important things on hold that we may have been planning for a while. But, I want to remind you that this is also a time that you can use to do things that help you grow and make you happier.
Here, I have compiled a list of 51 things that you can do while at home. All of these may not appeal to all of you but you could always filter out the ones that work for you!
So, here it goes:
1. Watch some cute puppy videos like this one here or even this super adorable video of pandas being pandas
2. Meditate. You can use an app like Headspace or Calm to experience some guided meditation
3. Journal. I have compiled these 50 super guiding prompts if you don’t know where to begin
4. Find a karaoke track on Youtube and sing your heart out.
5. Declutter random corners in your home
6. Play some board games
7. Cook yourself and your family an elaborate meal
8. Get on a video call with all those friends who you never end up talking to because you don’t have enough time on Hangouts or Zoom
9. Marie Kondo your wardrobe. Let go of all those clothes that don’t bring you joy
10. Do some colouring. If you don’t have a colouring book, print out a free colouring page. If you don’t have a printer, draw a mandala yourself and colour it
11. Watch a TV series that you have been putting off watching. We are currently re-watching Brooklyn 99
12. Enrol yourself in a 21-day or a 30-day fitness challenge

14. Play your favourite track and just dance like no is watching

16. Read some funny books. Like this one by Bill Bryson
17. Look through your old photo albums
18. Learn a language. You can use an app like Duolingo
19. Give yourself a mani-pedi.
20. Enrol in an online course. Learn that thing you have always wanted to learn. You can use apps like Udemy and Coursera
21. Declutter your Photos and Gallery in your phone
22. Listen to some funny podcasts. Here is a list of some really funny ones.
23. Make yourself a vision board. Here is a tutorial that could help you with it
24. Read some truly inspirational books that will help you grow as a person. Here is a list of books I recommend
25. Explore your photography skills at home
26. Take a nice, long bath
27. Make a scrapbook
28. Do some relaxing vinyasa yoga. Here is a tutorial I like
29. Do some DIY crafts to redecorate your home
30. Throw yourself an indoor picnic. Make a picnic basket, lay down your mat or blanket (out in the garden if you have one) and have a nice family picnic
31. Have a virtual lunch with your colleagues and just catch up like you do at work on Hangouts or Zoom
32. Play a video game
33. Host a themed movie night. I really want to do a Scorsese movie night
34. Try out that one family recipe that your grandma is famous for and you never had the time to try
35. Play that guitar or any musical instrument that you have lying around the house
36. Make a list of all the things you will do and all the places you will visit once the lockdown is over
37. Write down a daily gratitude list
38. Learn some calligraphy
39. Play Dumb Charades with your family
40. Do some gardening (if it is safe and you have the space)
41. Deep clean your home

43. Make your bucket list
44. Write thank you cards for your loved ones
45. Take an afternoon nap
46. Watch a documentary and learn about something new
47. Unclutter your mailbox. Unsubscribe from everything that you don’t need or want

49. Make some lemonade, fresh fruit juice or if you are in the mood, a cocktail (Just make sure, it’s in the evening!)
